I have been involved in real estate at Donner Lake since a Junior in Las Lomas High School, Walnut Creek. One of my first summer jobs was working for the then "Donner Lake Utility Company" (finally, taken over by the Truckee Donner Public Utility District). While working for the water company, I purchased my first lot ($50 Down, $30/month), just behind what is now the Donner Lake Kitchen. Profits from the sale of that lot gave me enough to buy my first car AND another lot...from then on, I was "hooked" on real estate.

With the help of my father, Carson White (Broker and founder of Donner Lake Realty), I continued to buy and sell property while in college (graduated 1969: Chico State), the U.S. Army (1st. Lieutenant, Signal Corps.), "Grunt" for Sierra Pacific Power Company, "Lineman" at the Truckee Tahoe Airport ('served as a Board Member of the Truckee Tahoe Airport District for six years) and a Ski Instructor at Squaw Valley. I was also a part-time ski instructor at Boreal Ski Area, while working at Donner Lake Realty. I was also served 15 years as a Founding Director of Truckee River Bank which became SierraWest Bank that was then bought out by Bank of the West.

My wife, Diane ,and I met at Soda Springs and were married in 1976. We have a son, Chris, graduated from Tahoe Truckee High School; is enrolled in University of Nevada in Reno.

Flying in our modified 1957 Piper Apache is a favorite pastime of our family and friends. Chris has been flying in it since he was three weeks old and has his Pilot's License. I am a charter member of the Truckee Tahoe Plane Talkers, a social club which meets each month for potluck dinners. We are also members of Chapter 1073 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) - I have been the Chapter's "Young Eagle Coordinator" since 2002 . I am also a member of, and Deputy Commander for Cadets for, our local Civil Air Patrol, here in Truckee. I pride myself for being the most involved Donner Lake REALTOR^® in our community; I attend many local Agency meetings in order to keep myself abreast of issues which may affect our industry as well as the Donner Lake community in general.
